The website for Darlington SING Community Choir. Our choir has been running since September 2012 and now has around 70 paid up members, of whom about 40-50 attend our Wednesday evening sessions at Bondgate Methodist Church in Darlington between 7.15 - 9.30pm. All new singers are welcome.
All our sessions are led by the popular and well known musical director Bridie Jackson.
All adults (18+) (see note below) are welcome and no audition is necessary to join our group, and members don’t need to be able to read music. We sing a wide variety of music and have the opportunity to perform at local events throughout the year. You can hear us sing some of our repertoire on our "Listen to Us" page.
Your first 2 sessions are free after that there is a termly membership fee (currently £10) plus a weekly fee of £3 per session. These charges are to cover the cost of printed music, musical director's fees, hire of hall, hire of performance venues etc. Most of our performances also raise money for local charities.
Note: Unfortunately at the moment we are not accepting any more sopranos as we currently have a lot of ladies in this section and taking any more would risk unbalancing the sound of the choir. We would be happy to put you on a waiting list (just drop us an email) and we will get back to you when there is a vacancy in the soparano section. We are still open to you members who sing in different registers i.e. altos, tenors (ladies & gentlemen) and baritones and basses.
